Happy 2nd Birthday Blast Part 2

I'm ashamed to say that this is the first time that we bought Kris to Singapore Zoo. Well, it's better to be late then never I told my husband.

I'm thankful for a clear blue sky despite the hazy season. The zoo has a birthday promotion for every Singapore and permanent residents which equate to free admission, 10% off retail and F&B and complimentary ice cream. Do remember to purchase your tickets on the internet to enjoy more savings.

Verdict
The F&B section definitely needs some work. There were so few food selection. I selected the fish ball noodle which was a terrible choice. It cost $7.50 and tasted horrible. The fishballs are completed made from pure flour. There wasn't much fast food choices either. There is only 1 KFC located in kidzworld zone.

Kris entered the Australian zone happily thinking that she could be able to feed wild kangaroos or wallabies. We didn't sight any kangaroos nor wallabies and we are definitely not allowed to feed them. Kris exit the enclosure asking where are the animals.

The polar bear zone was a big hit with Kris, watching the bear swim in his enclosure. We were luckily enough to visit during the bear feeding time. Kris exclaimed that the bear eats a lot and need to cut its nails as the bear was spotted with extremely long nails.

Kris had so much fun crawling in and out of the man-made igloo in the polar bear exhibit.

The elephants of Asia is a big hit. The viewing gallery was completely packed on a weekday. The elephants were well trained and performed at least 5 tricks. Kris was completely mesmerized by them. Occasionally, I caught her laughing and giggling at their tricks.

She was snoring away by the time we reaches kidzworld. My husband and I took a mini cheese fries break while waiting for her to wake up. It was raining by the time she woke up and thus no water playground this time round. Instead, we were off to feed the goats.

It's impossible to cover the entire exhibits in one day and we promised to bring Kris to the zoo again.

Nowadays, she often remind us about our next visit and what are the must visit animals.

Happy 2nd Birthday Blast Part 1

An intimate family dinner at Asia Grand is all we needed to celebrate this joyous occasion.

Peppe Pig Dough Set

Her first dough set.

My husband, A had been rather discouraging whenever I bring up the idea of Kris playing with dough as he thinks the dough will end up being in her mouth. Kris saw this adorable Peppa Pig set at the mall and pleaded with her father to buy this. Finally, daddy gave in and Kris carried the set to the cashier and stood there ensuring that the set was paid for and packed for home.

The dough cost  S$26 after a 25% off rack discount. There are 4 tubs of dough (in blue, green, pink and yellow colours), a A3 rollable mat, some tools for molding. All these are placed in a nice pink and blue tool box, compact enough to bring anywhere and big enough for Kris to sweep all her dough making tools back after each session.

Comparing this dough with Play Doh, the texture feels moister, softer and smells nicer (with fruity smell). The plastic fruit molds are sturdy too. Kris had an amazing one hour session kneading, rolling, twisting and molding the dough. She was fascinated how "green" noodles were produced.

After 1 hour of play, we found some bit size dough on her hair, legs and clothes. Its time for a bath!

2nd Mid Autumn Festive

This is Kris's 2nd Mid Autumn festival and we decided to reward her to one of our Chinese traditional treat "Piglet in a basket"猪仔饼. Upon first bite, she fell in love with this little piglet from 大中国饼家月饼.

One of these mini piglets cost S$1.20 and were wrapped and nicely packed in either a brightly color red or pink basket. I'm not a fan of biscuits but I would say that the taste of these piglets are fantastic. It wasn't too sweet nor oily and left a very fragrant after taste after each bite. No wonder Kris requested for a second piglet when she finished her first.

We celebrated the day with her cousins and a walk down the vicinity with her KOALA BEAR lantern.

Ki-mono

I came across this beautiful furniture shop, Kimono while browsing at THE STAR. The shop are fitted with modern day Japanese wooden furniture ranging from chairs to bed frame. Most of the designs are stylish, compact and some are rather creative, just the right size for many of us now.

They also have a section allocated for children furniture ranging from mini ladders to bunk beds. I bought a clothes stand with a bear topper for Kris at S$50.00.

Initially, I was hesitated as it require self assembly time and I thought to myself "Oh gosh, I need to bring out my most beloved super automatic screw driver." To my surprise, the pieces are self - assembly with screws meaning that all I need to do is to twist and tighten the knots. The instructions provided were clear with many illustration. I managed to complete the clothes stands in less than 15 minutes. That was a piece of cake and I did not utilize my automatic screw driver.
