The new norm

We are in Phase 1 of recovery. The kids are back in school on alternate basis (Primary/Sec) except for graduating class. Wearing mask is the new norm. There are various sellers selling cute design. I couldn't resist buying for the kids as they need to wear them on a daily basis.  Chose a design that they each love so that they will resist the temptation of removing them out in the public.

As for the working folks, WFH seem to be the new norm. E-commerce business has seem a huge boom and many people are being forced to use more of E-commerce services now.

First visit outdoor after 6 weeks

It's K first venture outdoor (to the supermarket) after staying indoor for 6 weeks. She was super excited over the new norm of everyone wearing face mask when outdoor. While walking to the car, she mentioned

"Mama, it's been a long time since I last sat in the car. I'm happy to go out for a ride."

On well, habits are formed after 21 days and I don't deny that by staying indoor for 6 weeks can definitely create new habits or make one afraid of venturing out again.

She surveyed the mall and asked various questions

  • Why are not all the shops open?
  • Why are there only certain entrance open?
  • Why are the floor plastered with tapes?
After our quick 30mins in the NTUC grabbing essentials, we are on the way home. She found it super uncomfortable to breathe while wearing the mask and eventually told me that she prefer to stay home instead of going out.

Staying indoor has kept her and L busy with various art classes (supplies that I bought online), refurbish recycled materials, kept eating and drinking, watching television and playing lots on games, conduct and experienced various science experience etc.

Hilirious K

As I was reviewing K's work, I noticed this page. I queried K why did she wrote 3 and 1? Her explanation and logical thinking is splendid.

M: Why did you write 3 and 1?
K: There are only 3 ducks facing the left and only 1 puppy that is exactly the same as the question. There is no total in the question.

I was dumbfounded and found her thinking logical and quite true.

"Very sharp observation skills, K!". She ended up laughing and told me that a few of her classmate got the same answer as her.

Way to go children. Let that creativity of yours flow.
