Kris surprised me one day when I asked her a question and she responded with a "YA". I was shocked and further asked if she knows the meaning of YA and she say YES. I tried correcting her in using YES instead and I end up committing the same mistake and responding with YA when Kris asked me a question. Oh my!!!
The next few days, she carried on using YA in our daily communication. One day, my niece responded and told us YA means coconut in Hokkien dialect.
Today, I made a conscious effort in correcting her and it tickles her to see me frown and smile when she says YA or YES. Haha
